Everyone thinks you need to be advanced to surf the Maldives. They're wrong.
Thulusdhoo is home to some of the most welcoming breaks in the Indian Ocean; warm, clear, and forgiving enough for beginners to actually build real skill, not just survive their first week on a board.
❀
Salem and Chloe are bringing the Salem Surf Co Method to the Maldives for 7 days of real progression, turquoise water, and an island so small you'll never once feel lost in the crowd.

-
Arrival & Welcome to Thulusdhoo!
Touch down in Malé, take the transfer out to Thulusdhoo, and settle into Twin Palms Surf House, the island that's quietly become one of the best surf hubs in the Indian Ocean.
Get your feet in the sand, meet the group, and ease into island time. There's no rush here, no agenda for day one beyond arriving fully. We'll come together for a welcome dinner to kick things off properly, get to know the women you'll be sharing this whole week with, before an early night… tomorrow, the real fun begins!
-
First Surf Session
Your first session in the water, guided by a local surf expert who knows Thulusdhoo's breaks inside and out.Depending on the group's level, Salem and Chloe may hang back and observe first, getting a real read on how everyone moves naturally before diving into coaching, or jump straight into cues if that's what the group needs.
Either way, you're never out there alone.
Video analysis after, followed by short 1:1s to talk through your goals for the week and lock in your personal focus; your "one thing" for the trip.
Afternoon's yours: settle into island time, explore Thulusdhoo's surf-town streets, or just relax back at Twin Palms before dinner. -
Coached Surf + Stingray Snorkel
Morning surf session with real-time coaching cues tied to your one thing, then video analysis to lock it in.In the afternoon, we trade the board for a mask and fins, snorkeling with stingrays and reef sharks in the clear water just off the island.
Even though it’s not surfing, it’s just as amazing ;)
-
Surf + Yoga
Another coached session in the morning, another round of video breakdown; you'll start noticing the "holy crap, I'm actually improving" moments right around now.In the afternoon, we roll out the mats for one of our two yoga sessions, opening up everything the paddling's been tightening.
As the sun starts to dip, we head to the beach, and let's just say Salem and Chloe might have something up their sleeve…
-
Surf + Scent Workshop
Morning surf and analysis, same rhythm you've settled into by now, each session building on the last.In the afternoon, something a little different: a scent workshop to create your own perfume using raw, local ingredients. It’s an incredible experience unlike anything else in the Maldives.
For the evening, put on your favorite dress because we are heading into town to enjoy dinner and explore a bit of Thulusdhoo!
-
Surf workshop + hike or beach day + movie night
Surf session with a focused 30-minute workshop woven in: a chance to slow it down, ask more questions, and actually understand what you’re doing in the water.Afternoon is yours: hike through the island or stay planted on the beach, whichever your legs are asking for.
As the sun goes down, we close out the night with a movie: all 10 of you horizontal, probably half asleep before the credits roll, which is exactly how it should feel on night six. 🎬
-
Surf + Yoga + Fresh Fish BBQ
One more coached session and video analysis in the morning, second yoga class of the trip in the afternoon to keep everything feeling good heading into the final stretch.
Then we close out the week together with a fresh fish BBQ on the beach, the whole group celebrating an amazing trip 🎉
-
Final Session & Departure
One last morning in the water (if flights allow), take it all in, take the notes, take the wins.
Final video analysis of the trip, a chance to look back at day one and see exactly how far you've come.
Then it's time to pack up, say your goodbyes, and head back through Malé. We can’t wait to have you back in the water soon!
Transfers included.

We've been on plenty of group trips ourselves, and we know that doing something every three seconds isn't actually relaxing.
That's why our surf trips are designed to balance structure with downtime.
We surf together every day, have one group activity, and do daily video analysis, but beyond that, your time is your own.
There will be group adventures sprinkled in daily (check out the itinerary), but you're also free to explore on your own or simply enjoy some extra beach time.
It's a hands-on, hands-off approach that keeps everyone feeling organized without feeling scheduled to death.
-
Fly into Malé (Velana International Airport) — the main international gateway to the Maldives.
From there, we'll get you to Thulusdhoo via an airport transfer, so once you land, just look for us.
No confusion, no scrambling- we've got the rest handled.
-
Not at all! A group van will handle all transportation. Daily surf sessions, activities, airport transfers, and grocery store runs are all taken care of.
-
Absolutely. Most of our guests come solo! This retreat is designed to foster connection, confidence, and community. Whether you’re introverted or outgoing, there’s space for you here.

Your 8 days in the Maldives come fully taken care of. You'll stay 7 nights at Twin Palms Surf House on Thulusdhoo, with airport transfers from Malé handled from the moment you land. We're capturing it all too, with daily surf photo/video sessions and 2 drone sessions to make sure you leave with more than just memories. Beyond the surf, you'll snorkel with stingrays and reef sharks, join a scent workshop, and unwind with 2 yoga sessions, plus a fresh fish BBQ to close things out right. This is a small group experience (10 women max), and every guest goes home with an exclusive Salem Surf Co gift bag, plus a few extra surprises we're keeping under wraps. 🌺

Thulusdhoo is a local island, not a resort island, which means alcohol is prohibited by law, not just left off the menu. No BYOB, no bar, no exceptions.
If you're craving a drink, some nearby boats and day-trip resorts offer alcohol for a fee, but it's not part of this itinerary.
One important note: you cannot bring alcohol into the Maldives at all, even from duty-free; it will be confiscated at customs if found.
-
YES! You can absolutely sign up with a friend and request to share a room. Let us know on your interest form and we’ll make it happen.

Head Surf CoachHi! My name is Chloe, and I grew up surfing in Hawaii. I competed for over 10 years, even reaching the national level before I turned 18.
Once I turned 18, I transitioned into giving surf lessons and became one of the only certified female surf judges in the islands at the time.
Surfing has always been my biggest passion, and now I get to share it by helping women like you progress and build confidence in the water.
I can’t wait to help you improve and watch you grow through our camp!

Founder & Surf MentorHey, I’m Salem! A full-time traveler turned surf addict. After years of exploring the world, I fell in love with surfing and started sharing my journey online, showing what it’s really like to learn something new as an adult, the messy, vulnerable, and empowering parts.
My mission is to inspire you to step out of your comfort zone, laugh at yourself along the way, and believe that it’s never too late to start.
Through my content and this retreat, I’m here to support your mindset, encourage you on the tough days, and celebrate every small win in and out of the water.
